The director disclosed Don 3. he posted a trailer for the movie. The phrase “A new era begins” appeared in the announcement video.
Akhtar did not divulge the cast of the highly anticipated movie when he announced it. Still, some rumors claim that Ranveer Singh will take Shah Rukh Khan’s place in the upcoming movie as Don. The production crew is yet to verify the rumors, yet.

Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas played the lead characters in the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-starring 1978 film Don that Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani created. The first Don was released in 2006, and the second Don, with SRK and Priyanka reprising their roles, was released in 2011.
Don 3 had previously been confirmed by producer Ritesh Sidhwani, Akhtar’s colleague at the Excel Entertainment production banner. We won’t do anything, he said, “until my partner (Farhan Akhtar) finishes writing it.” He is now working on finalizing the script. Even we are looking forward to seeing “Don.”
According to a few media reports, the first trailer for Don 3, which stars Ranveer Singh as Don, will be shown in theaters on Friday, August 11, along with Gadar 2 and OMG 2.
A new era?
The phrase “A New Era Begins” attracted the internet’s attention as well. Then, franchise followers began to question if it meant Shah Rukh wouldn’t play the lead role in the threequel. According to reports, Ranveer Singh has been hired to play the new Don.
A few hours later, Farhan released a long tweet on Twitter confirming that a new actor will carry on Don’s legacy.
